![]() ![]() system.’s underground roots are still present as the intimate setting plays host to up and coming DJs and established names like residents and promoters Annie Errez and Bobby O’Donnell, playing anything from house to techno and everything in between.Ģ012 was a busy year for the club as Mint Warehouse, a new 1000 capacity venue was opened and the first ever Mint Festival was launched. Much of this success can be attributed to the enjoyment, understanding and passion Shane and his team have for the music scene. Within two years the venue was acknowledged as the Best Small Venue 2010 in the DJ Mag Best of British awards. Mint was in need of a refurbishment and was renovated, refitted and re-launched with the now famous Funktion One sound system and an array of eye catching, pulsing LEDs adorning the ceiling. The venues history, size and underground atmosphere proved to be the perfect mix for housing the night and the rest as they say is history. As Shane says, “It was run down but had a great history within the scene and we decided it would be the perfect place to host system.”. The event, which you might recognise nowadays as system., proved to be so popular with students, clubbers and partygoers that a bigger venue was sought out. Born from a passion for all things music dating back to the early 90’s warehouse scene, Shane started out organising his own parties for friends in the humble surroundings of the local pub cellar. ![]() Mint’s current owner Shane Graham took the reins in 2007 with the aspiration of returning the club to its former glory and has successfully restored its reputation as one of the best small venues in the land. From an underground pub cellar to national awards and acclaim, the club has transitioned from a personal party project to one of the best dance music venues in the country, and now has its own dance festival to boot. When it comes to clubbing, promotion and music you would be hard pressed to find a venue with a history as colourful as the Mint Club Leeds. ![]()
